Italian ice cream in Tokyo
I enjoy an after-dinner ice cream at Grom in the very stylish neighborhood of Shinjuku in Tokyo. The Italian ice cream maker just recently opened a branch in Tokyo and was welcomed by the slow food movement in Japan. All ingredients are of course organic and freshly made and the clientele is very fashionable.
Artisan ice cream truck
The best artisan ice cream in New York City is sold out of an adorable pale yellow truck that roams the city. You can check the Van Leeuwen website for locations or follow them on Twitter. All ingredients are organic and the base of the ice cream is made of hormone-free milk and cream, egg yolk and pure cane sugar. I order one scoop each of Giandujia, Pistachio and Tahitian Vanilla….
Boa Nova Tea House
I am drinking white tea in the Boa Nova Tea House in Porto, Portugal right next to the sea. The tea house was built in 1963 by Alvaro Siza and is located at Avenida da Liberdade. My white Rishi tea is infused with succulent plum and wild forest berries.
Floating Architecture
When I walked through Hyde Park, I felt like an insect when I discovered the new installation of the Serpentine Gallery, which has been designed this year by Kazuyo Sejima and Ryue Nishizawa. The Pavilion is floating aluminium drifting freely between the trees like smoke. The architecture changes according to the weather and, as you know, that happens quite often during the day in England.
Dancing Queen
Today I visit the Laban Dance Center in Creekside, England. It was built in 2004 by Swiss architects Herzog & de Meuron. The staircase’s spiral form symbolizes movement best.

Chanel Cruise Collection →
The Ready-to-wear 2009 Cruise Collection for Chanel took place on the beach in front of the Grandhotel Excelsior, where I go swimming every morning when I stay on the Lido. Coco Chanel brought most of her lovers to this place.
Beautiful Paper
Whenever I am in Venice I buy lots of beautiful handmade papers in different colors and patterns. They are unique and make a wonderful gift, or I use them to cover my own favorite books.
The world of luxury is ambiguous for me; what counts is allure and charm.
