A shrine to objets trouvé, Tony Duquette, designer to the stars, created his own oriental Xanadu. Located in a ravine, Dawnridge is filled with carvings from Indonesia, pagodas and small pavilions, set against jungle-like foliage and giant eucalypti. After beginning his career creating shop-front and window displays, Duquette became a legendary maverick designer-of movie sets, private interiors and theatrical costumes. His clients include Paul Getty, the Duchess of Windsor and David O. Selznick, for whom he designed the sets for Ziegfeld Follies.
